A Shadow of A Woman

A shadow of a woman lurks
Deep within my soul
She watches as the years go by
While nature takes it toll.

While time trods on quite rapidly
And sadly as she ages,
The shadow of her youthful days
Are written ‘mongst the pages

Of dreams that now are memories
Of hopes that now are past
Of reality of the naïve thought
That all things good must last

Was just another moment
Of fantasy of youth.
She faces now the shadow
The moment of the truth.

Her time has come,
Her youth has passed.
It’s time to rest,
At last.
